Get up close to your opponent and throw your boomerang.  Then do a strong sword slash or a spinning sword attack or a sword thrust or throw. If you throw your boomerang and then get close to your opponent so that it hits him from behind, it will be even easier to finish off the combo. It should also extend the damage level to under 50% as well.

 Strengths
Link is easily one of the most versatile characters in the game. He gets excellent range on most of attacks by using his sword. He has two projectiles, one of which travels in two directions, often hitting characters in their back on their return to Link. Plus, he has tremendous juggling ability with all of his upward sword and great launching ability. Finally, he's relatively small and he's very quick. Therefore, with so much range in his moves as well as those two projectiles, it is best to keep your distance with Link and just rack up a bunch of damage with hit and run tactics. Also, use your boomerang often. If you throw it and an opponent then begins hitting you, it will eventually come back and break up your opponent's attack. Try not to use his throw too much though as it has a good deal of recovery time. You might try comboing into by using your boomerang attack first however. In any event, if you have trouble using Link well, that's just not a good thing at all for you.
Weaknesses
There simply aren't very many weaknesses that you can use when fighting Link. However, there are two overwhelming flaws to Link's game that can usually be used to keep him at bay. Essentially, you must combine both the little horizontal range in Link's jumps with the predictability of his Up + B move to keep him away from the playing board. If you can get in a quick throw on Link near an edge, even at very low damage, he will have a difficult time getting back just with his second jump. Thus, if you see he's going to need to use his spinning sword attack to get back onto the platform, get ready. Since the path that attack takes is always the same, and since it has such an obvious arcing motion, you should easily be able to attack Link before he lands. And, if you get underneath his spinning sword attack and grab Link as he lands on the other side of you, you can do your backwards throw which is usually a more powerful launcher than the regular throw. Then, repeat, and repeat, until Link falls to his demise. Nothing more satisfying than successfully pulling that off on Link.
